RSPCA Bolton have now moved!

 Brenin 3

Press Release January 2016:

We have now moved our Advice Centre from 205 St George’s Rd to new improved premises at 21 Vernon St, Bolton, BL1 2QB just across the road, and from where we will be able to offer a much better service & help many more local animals and their owners.

Branch Manager Julie Ashcroft says ‘We had outgrown our little office on St George’s Road and it was time to move on. Our new premises is bigger and better so we can expand the work that we do.’

‘The new site will include office space, an advice centre, a charity shop, an animal clinic with consulting rooms and a small operating theatre. We hope to be able to offer clinics on a weekly basis instead of the present fortnightly ones, and the new operating theatre will be used for neutering cats & dogs and for other minor operations. This is going to be an invaluable service to owners on limited incomes and means tested benefits who otherwise would have to pay the full price at private vets or travel with their pets to the RSPCA Animal Hospital in Manchester’.

‘This is all great news for local animal welfare. However, it will come at a cost. So we are launching an appeal for funding to help set up the project and for help with the actual work involved with the building conversion.  Should we exceed the total required (or if for any reason the project cannot go ahead) then the funds raised will help towards the cost of veterinary care provided by the Branch. When the work is finished we will also be looking for additional volunteers to help in our shop on the new site.’

‘We are appealing for help in many forms: donations of cash will be most welcome, as would anyone who would be able to donate a few hours, when the time comes, to help us paint, renovate, move premises, or could continue to help us on an on-going basis in the shop by pledging to volunteer for just 3 hours per week, and also donations of goods to sell in the shops are always needed. Could you sell any raffle tickets for us? Our bumper raffle will be launched on 1st February.

‘There is a long wish list of equipment that we need to obtain: Click Here for our Wish List.  Could anyone possibly donate any of these items, or may someone be willing to let us have them at low cost to support this good cause? ‘
